William Youngblood, MS, LMFT, CEAP
For more than 25 years, I’ve helped people through some of life’s most challenging moments — and celebrated with the through some of their most rewarding successes. My work spans university, medical, school-based, and community settings, and I bring all of that experience into a warm, practical, and deeply human approach to therapy.

My Philosophy
I believe therapy is a collaborative process that evolves as you do. My goal is to tailor treatment to your unique needs, strengths, and goals. I take the time to truly listen, and together we identify your values and create a plan of action to move toward becoming your best self.
Along the way, I offer reflections and feedback informed by evidence-based research — and by the privilege of witnessing the successes of the thousands of people I’ve worked closely with over the years.
A Foundation Built Over 25+ Years
For ten years, I served as a counselor within the Faculty & Staff Assistance Program at UC San Diego, providing confidential support and leadership consultation to faculty, staff, and healthcare employees — from frontline workers to world-renowned researchers, academics, and senior executives. That experience gave me a rare, systems-level understanding of how workplace decisions ripple through people’s lives, and how rarely leaders have a confidential space to process difficult information.
My career has also included clinical supervision, university teaching, crisis response, and research — a breadth of experience that informs the steady, grounded presence I bring to every session.
An Inclusive, Culturally Responsive Practice
I welcome and am skilled in working across a wide range of racial, ethnic, and cultural perspectives, religious and spiritual orientations, and sexual orientations. I work with clients across the lifespan, from ages 12 to 70, and I am committed to inclusive, equity-centered, and culturally attuned care.

When I’m not in the office, I believe in practicing the same balance and wellbeing I encourage in my clients. I enjoy time with family, physical activity, and being out in nature, whether that’s walking my two dogs, surfing the local breaks, or playing pickleball with friends. I am a husband and the father of two adult children.
